Vlad Papas

Vlad co-founded PATRIA with a clear focus: to offer reliable, ethical, and tailored legal support to individuals and businesses navigating the complexities of UK immigration. With more than 22 years of legal experience across both the UK and international jurisdictions, Vlad brings a solid, practical understanding of how law works both in principle and in real-life situations.

Beginning his career as a barrister in Greece, Vlad handled a wide range of legal matters, including over 300 court appearances. His early legal work spanned criminal defence, corporate affairs, and public law, giving him a broad, grounded perspective on legal practice. After relocating to the UK, he transitioned into immigration law, building deep, hands-on experience with both private and corporate clients.

He has since held roles at respected UK firms where he was involved in a range of immigration cases from visa and settlement applications to judicial reviews and sponsor licence compliance. His work has involved each step from helping individuals make their first move to the UK, to supporting businesses through regulatory complexities and long-term planning.​ He was the first point of contact for multiple high-profile UK-based businesses, offering him valuable insight into cross-border legal dynamics, international HR compliance, and the expectations of globally mobile professionals and business leaders.

​Vlad holds professional qualifications both as a Greek barrister as well as an IAA Level 1 UK immigration adviser. Fluent in English, Greek, and French, he communicates confidently with clients across different jurisdictions and cultures. His ongoing education in legal tech, compliance, and business management ensures that his legal practice remains current, efficient, and client-focused.
